We are a group of Grade 6 students here at École Golden Gate. Every day offers a new challenge as we make our way through our first year of Middle School together! Please take a look around our blog to see what we've been up to!

Roots Lesson and Sleep Survey

Mlle Bees came to visit our class for our next Roots of Empathy lesson today. Today's theme was sleep. We talked about signs of sleep (yawning, rubbing our eyes...) and also talked about transition objects (items that we use for comfort; items that babies often rely on to fall asleep).
We listened to the story "Daniel's Day" and talked about how what comforts us when we have a bad day and how transition items can help us feel better.

We also have the chance to participate in a week-long sleep survey. For the next week we'll log what time we went to bed and what time we woke up in the morning. We'll also use our Math skills to calculate how many hours we slept. Some of us chose to bring our paper home so that we can fill it out first thing in the morning when we wake up. Others decided to keep the sheet at school and will have a chance to fill it in when we first arrive to Mme Careen's classroom in the morning. We'll be able to share our sleep results the next time Mlle Bees comes to visit us.
